This is an educational, informative, and entertaining performance. The programme will begin with homegrown Chinese Opera playwright and lyricist Leslie Wong conducting a workshop on the rudiments and composition of Cantonese music as well as how to appreciate this genre of Chinese music. His presentation will be accompanied by demonstration through his playing the guzherng and singing by CTC's artists Kwan Siu Ping, Janet Wong and Mandy Chung. He will also explain the importance of the flute in Cantonese Opera, especially as a lead instrument in one of the theme songs in the evergreen Cantonese Opera "The Patriotic Princess" which has remained, and is still the most popular Cantonese Opera, since 1957.

Besides, Leslie Wong will also analyse his masterpiece "The Poet Liu Yong" and other Cantonese songs and explain how to appreciate and tell a good song from a bad one. Following the workshop will be a series of Cantonese oldie and goodie songs comprising four solos "The Poet Liu Yong" and "Return Of The Romantic Swallow" by Kwan Siu Ping, "General Yue Fei" by Chan Hwee Seng, and "The Dilemma of Jia Baoyu" by Ang Cheng Hong. There will also be three duets "Meeting At The Nunnery" by See Too Hoi Siang and Frances Wong Kum Yeng, "Fighting A Night Battle" by Ellen Li and Chan Fook Lum, and "Meeting At Hua Tian" by Lo Siu Ling and Mak Khay Meng.
